Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide a detailed understanding of information systems, seen within organizational and societal notions both from technical and organizational perspectives to be basis for new technologies and information systems applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding the effects of information systems on business and describe the management, organization, and technology component of an information system.
2   Define IT infrastructure and describe its components.
3   Evaluate tools and technologies for accessing information from databases to improve business performance and decision making.
4   Identify the principal components of telecommunications networks, key networking technologies and securing information resources.
5   Evaluate the role of m-commerce in business, and describe the most important m-commerce applications.
6   Compare digital age applications.
