Course Objective

This course aims to provide the students to be able to explain the policies and legal regulations on agriculture sector and rural areas in Turkey and to be able to examine the results of their applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will be able to explain the policies and legal regulations that can cause the transformation of the rural areas (Knowledge),
2   Will be able to disscus on the future of the agriculture sector and rural areas in Turkey (Analyze),
3   Will be able to describe the causes and results of the global and local agriculture policies (Comprehence),
4   Will be able to interpret which of the dynamics is transformed by the agriculture policies.
5   Will be able to distinguish the differences of agriculture and rural policies in a processive perspective

1 The conceptual framework: agriculture, agricultural policy, rural area, rural transformation, small peasantry and agricultural holdings concepts.
2 The agricultural structure in Turkey.
3 The order of rural settlement in Turkey.
4 The relations of production and formations of enterprises in agricultural sector.
5 The agriculture policies and the transformation in the rural structure in Turkey I.
6 The agriculture policies and the transformation in the rural structure in Turkey II.
7 The agriculture policies and the transformation in the rural structure in Turkey III
8 Midterm examination
9 The agriculture policies and the transformation in the rural structure in Turkey IV
10 The impacts of the policies on agriculture and rural areas to the dynamics of the rural transformation.
