Course Objective

The aim of the course; to initiate the architectural discipline in general terms, to teach architectural design elements, principles and components, to gain the ability to evaluate architectural products in the context of design concepts.

3   Show the shaping qualities of architectural design elements

3 Week 3: Shaping principles: Subtraction, concatenation, transformation
4 Week 4: Organization principles: Central, linear, radial, clustered
5 Week 5: Design principles: Focus, hierarchy, rhythm
6 Week 6: Visual perception: Gestalt theory of perception
7 Week 7: Spatial Components: Ratio / Proportion
8 Week 8: Spatial Components: Color
