Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the student will be able to; Explain what postmodernism is. Define postmodernism. Compare postmodernism with pre-modern and modern periods. Tells the main characteristics of the postmodern society.
2   Evaluates the conditions of postmodernism. Discusses the varying ideas about the conditions of postmodernism. Tells what each of postmodernism s conditions mean. Gives examples of applications of postmodernism s conditions.
3   Explains the relationship between tourism and postmodernism. Tells the change in tourism paradigm. Explains how postmodernism is reflected in tourism industry. Gives examples of applications of postmodernism in tourism industry.
4   Defines postmodern tourist. Defines tourist in terms of postmodern consumer culture. Explains postmodern tourist behavior.
