Course Objective

Complementary and integrated approach; It is based on human understanding of body, mind, emotion and spiritual integrity. In integrated practices such as phytotherapy, yoga, therapeutic touch, reiki, aromatherapy, music therapy, reflexology, relaxation and meditation, the aim is to raise the awareness of the individual and to reveal his own healing power. It is known that various complementary and integrated approaches have been used since the existence of humanity. Complementary and complementary applications; In addition to maintaining and improving the individual's well-being, it is used in conjunction with medical treatment or in addition to medical treatment in the management of disease symptoms. Complementary and complementary practices are based on a holistic approach and involve the use of all methods that may be appropriate in the light of evidence. Cancer patients have always been in search of general well-being during the treatment or after the treatment has ended since the diagnosis and treatment process. During these searches, they tried to find answers to the questions from the environment, sometimes by hiding their searches directly, sometimes indirectly and sometimes, to the nurses and doctors who contributed to their care. In this context, the aim of the course is to provide the student with information about the complementary and complementary applications that can be used by the cancer individual / family, their usage patterns, their interactions with treatment methods, to learn the principles of approach and to gain awareness.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
