Course Objective

To provide knowledge in different surgical diagnosis


Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows general clinical knowledge related to cardiac and vascular system.
2   Knows general surgical approach related to cardiac and vascular system.
3   Knows physiological process of pregnancy and labor, possible complications and protection methods.
4   Knows procedures of abdominal, bariatric and breast surgeries.
5   Knows postoperative surgical complications, liquid and electrolyte equilibrium and shock.

Course Contents

1 Introduction to lecture
2 Open hearth and lung surgery
3 Vascular surgery (CABG, vascular injury, fistules, aneurysmectomy etc)
4 Respiratory arrest- cardiac arrest and recuscitation, pre-op diagnositic methods, preparing patient to surgery
5 Post-op patient follow-up in CICU, medications and equipments used, new applications in GKD surgery
6 Anatomy of the genital organs, menstrual disorders and treatment, pregnancy and body systems
7 Diseases affected by pregnancy (DM, HT, Cardiac diseases, AC, musculoskeletal system diseases, rheumatoid diseases) clinical problems that may appear in pregnancy
8 Pregnancy and protection methods, Urogenital functions and diseases, gynaecological oncology
9 Mid-term exam
10 Liquid and electrolyte equilibrium
11 Abdominal surgery
12 Bariatric surgery
13 Breast surgery
14 Post-operative pulmonary complications
15 General review of the lecture
