Course Objective

The aim of the lesson is written from the point of view of the ınstructer
to point out the general outline and the content of the course. The aim of
this lesson; The aim of this course is to present the effects of social
relations network and political organizations both on the urban scale and
the Ottoman geography in the framework of the validity principles of
scientific thought in the 19th century, as Izmir became a prominent port
city.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   they will have an idea about the background of historically sociological and political dynamics of Izmir
2   Students will explore the effects of historical references of the city to Ottoman's and Turkey s political affairs
3   students will be able to discuss and experience the political view of the city and public mind issues from a historical perspective
4   they are going to enrich their knowledge about being a member of Izmir

4 Çakabey,the fact of turkificatıon in Izmir evolutıon
5 The role of izmir in the classical period ottoman economy and 17th century levant trade and the rise of Izmir
