Course Objective

Course objective is to introduce the configuration, process, and activities of a management as an economic entity in the light of contemporary developments and enable students to gain leadership, communicational and organizational skills, social awareness and environment consciousness.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Explaining basic concepts of management economy and governance, objectives, basic functions, activities, planning, organization, coordination, production, control, pricing, marketing, finance, decision making process of the managements.
2   Following contemporary developments in the management economy and administration and public related issues (total quality management, organizational culture, synergic society, network economy, etc.)
3   Developing communicational skills, stating and solving misfits, sharing opinions, enhancing leadership potential and persuasion skills.
4   Developing analytic thinking and problem solving, strategic planning (SWOT Analysis) skills.
5   Applying team work, time management, conflict, crisis and stress management, positive thinking.
6   Gaining an effective, productive, qualified point of view and skills of CV writing and interview methods, performance assessment.
7   Developing leadership and organizational skills in team works.
8   Gaining consciousness, social responsibility and environment awareness through actualizing project proposals.

1 Basic concepts of management economy and administration (production factors, management, entrepreneur, manager, rationalism, productivity, profitability, efficiency)
2 Objectives (standing, growth, public service and responsibility) and classification of the managements. Unions (holding, cartel, trust, fusion)
3 Decision of the site of establishment (feasibility etudes) Marginal capital efficiency Breakeven point
4 Basic functions and activities of the administration (planning, organization, coordination, auditing, decision making) Production, marketing, pricing, improving, distribution, finance
5 Total quality management (Old and new management understanding) Ethical conduct awareness Contemporary issues about management administration (benchmarking, leasing, factoring, franchising, organizational culture, network economy, research-development, know-how, Techno Park, synergic society, intellectual capital, risk capital)
6 Leadership and motivation Decision making and implementing Effective communication (oral, tacit, written)
