Course Objective

Firstly students are aimed to learn basic elements of construction to text. Students are focused on paragaph and page layout systems for generate a text. To teach page layout, negative-pozitive space, visual-text relation etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have the principles of construction a text and usi it in practice
2   To be able to create emphasis on page
3   To be able to show on workshop an emphasis on readability and legibility
4   To be able to construct creative and different page layout for a good design
5   To be able to choose the best typeface to design and transfer the message in an effective way
6   To be able to solve the problem given, in the best way and finalized the job.
7   To be able to use the knowledge gained with professional and artistic fields and maintain life-long learning

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Reconstruction of a magazine page. Worked on paragraph systems and structure systems which are related to text. To denote with examples.
2 Reconstruction of a magazine page. Critic on sketches.
3 Reconstruction of a magazine page. Choosing a sketch and transfering to computer.
4 Reconstruction of a magazine page. Generating the design with choosen sketch and finishing the design.
5 Reconstruction of a magazine page. Critic on completed design.
6 Reconstruction of first 30 pages of a poem book. Worked on choosing typeface and using appropriate typeface to design. To denote with examples and stabilized by design project.
7 Reconstruction of first 30 pages of a poem book. Critic on sketches.
8 Reconstruction of first 30 pages of a poem book. Choosing a sketch and transfering to computer.
9 Reconstruction of first 30 pages of a poem book. Generating the design with choosen sketch and finishing the design.
10 Reconstruction of first 30 pages of a poem book. Critic on completed design.
11 Reconstruction of a newspaper. An emphasis on readability and legibility. Visual-text relation, create emphasis on page and page layout are examined with examples and stabilized by design project.
12 Reconstruction of a newspaper. Critic on sketches.
13 Reconstruction of a newspaper. Choosing a sketch and transfering to computer.
14 Reconstruction of a newspaper. Generating the design with choosen sketch and finishing the design and critic.
