Course Objective

In order for a leather cloth to have a design qualification, it should reflect an original idea apart from the specified one, reinforce and develop the creativity and collection rationale by forming an original study.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to make a color and form relation upon the determined topic in consideration with creativity, innovation and aestheticism
2   Being able to apply the key elements of leather clothing design such as color, texture and production methods on his/her designs
3   Being able to know the material and perform designs according to the material
4   Being able to perform the necessary work float by preparing the technical drawings at the production stage
5   Being able to determine the target group correctly

Course Contents

1 Leather material knowledge and apparel classification Form, cutting, color and texture research for the session trends
2 Interaction points, catwalk images, technical drawings, color scheme research in accordance with the project topic
3 Texture research
4 Analysis of the materials and the employed techniques within the various techniques and researches and sketch design studies
5 Sketch design studies
6 Delivery of sketch files Analysis upon the sketch file and the selection of designs with the students
7 Drawing and detailing of technical developments of designs
8 Preparation of introduction sheet
9 Studies on the artistic sketches that will take part in design sheets
10 Delivery of introduction sheet 2. project topic; discussion on interaction points and material features
11 Forming a design sketch file on the project topic
12 Delivery of sketch files Analysis of sketch files and design selections with students
13 Preparation of introduction sheet Drawing and detailing of technical developments of designs
14 Preparations of presentation and design sheets

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

1.Courses
The lecturer of this course guides students to generate solutions on starting points, target group and application areas they determined by them in accordance with current fashion trends and wants them to submit their thoughts in black and white and visually (report, presentation sheet, an anecdote notebook with the design process inside).
2. Revision sessions and class discussions
Revision sessions are held at the first and the last classes of each week on the basis of given time for the elections of designs. Sketch and presentation files form the basis of the problems that will be solved in these sessions. Students are encouraged significantly for taking part in the class discussions and presenting their ideas about their designs.

Assessment Criteria

Grading in the evaluation process will be according to the creativity in designs, innovative approach, parallelism with determined starting point, suitability of designs to the determined product groups, suitability of materials and application.

Course Policies and Rules

1. There is an 80 % obligation in attendance to lesson.
2. All plagiarism attempts and actions would end up in disciplinary punishment
3. Nonattendance to the lesson, not performing the required responsibilities will not be accepted.
4. For late project deliveries, decreasing a letter grade for each day will be applied.
