Course Objective

Recognizing and studying for their motive, composition, color and production techniques forming contemporary interpretations regarded with products for clothing and indoor places.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   . be able to know turkish textile design styles and fabrics,
2   be able to have the advantage of utilizing from tradional styles in formation of contemporary textile design and having the information about it,
3   have the capability design indoor place textile which are suitable with places that are built in Turkish architectural style.
4   Design clothes having contemporary understanding which is suitable with traditional turkish clothing style after being inspired of turkish textile design styels
5   be able to form collection preparation logic and practice,
6   be able to transform design into product.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Lecturer shall convey the course by using course notes which are prepared from several sources and support these with visual presentations. Research subject is given to student and oral and written expression is expected from student.
2 Written and visual material will be collected regarded with selected Turkish Design Style
3 Collected visual materials will be studied for transforming them into design which is suitable with theme and product

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

. Lecturer shall convey the course by using course notes which are prepared from several sources and support these with visual presentations. Research subject is given to student and oral and written expression is expected from student.

Projecy subject will be searched in visual and written way and materials which will be source for design will be selected. Designs regarded with product will be formed after sketch studies and some of the designs will be transformed into products in workshop conditions by using textile technique and methods. During design process new ideas will be formed without any prejudice or critics for each student with participation of entire class.
Practice
. During design process Lecturer takes note of experimental applications which increases creativity of students. Meanwhile lecturer have an attitude which is focused on solution for experienced problems

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Evaluation: scoring shall be performed according to creativity, being paralel with selected commence point, appropriateness of designs with selected product groups, appropriateness of techniques and its applicability and materials during process from design to product.
