Course Objective

The aim of this lesson is to have students improve awareness on the media discourse: its functions, production and consumption processes; and also criticize media texts using various approaches used to analyze media discourse.

3   Prepare an assignment on the use of language in media
4   Criticise the language use in media
5   Establish a relationship between anguage, media and culture and explain them

1- Learning outcomes 1,2, 4, and 5 will be evaluated via the questions asked in the mid-term and final exams
2- Learning outcomes 3, 4, and 5 will be evaluated via homework assignment/Project.

2- Absence from classes will not be considered as an excuse for late submission of the homework assignments/projects.
