Course Objective

The aim of this course is to teach how to read, understand and translate scientific and technical texts, the points to be considered during translation and terminology in various fields so as to prepare them for technical translation. Through contextual terminology analysis and sample texts, students are expected to acquire the basic skills to determine and transfer the terminological and stylistic features of scientific and technical texts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students are expected to be able to analyze technical and scientific texts on terminological and textual levels.
2   Students are expected to be able to transfer the terminology of technical and scientific texts into another language.
3   Students are expected to be able to learn and apply technical translation methods.
4   Students are expected to be able to use technical terminology production methods
5   Students are expected to be able to produce technical texts.
