Course Objective

The aim of this course is to learn the etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of the diseases related to the respiration and circulation systems; their environmental and genetic factors; and basic principles of their prevention.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Describe etiopathogenesis, explain the basic principles of diagnosis and treatment of major respiratory system diseases
2   Describe etiopathogenesis, explain the basic principles of diagnosis and treatment of major cardiac diseases
3   Describe the basic principles of relevant communication with patients with chronic diseases
4   List the preventive measures in occupational lung diseases
5   Understand the ethical responsibility of physician in health technology and drug use

In the first 3 years block-end and year-end assessments are done and the student success was evaluated on a yearly basis as an annual grade out of 100.

Year-end grade 80 and above = Annual grade 80 and above = exempt from the final exam Successful
Year-end grade below 80: Year-end grade (50%) + Final exam (50%) = Annual grade 65 and above = Successful
Year-end grade (50%) + Resit exam (50%) = Annual grade 65 and above = Successful
