Course Objective

To help learners comprehend the relation between the animals structural features and the way they live, point out the importance of energy flow among the life forms in everyday life and how communication occurs among the animate organisms.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   The knowledge of the fact that the animal is an important part of the nature.
2   To be able to explain that organisms exchange things with each other and inanimate environment all the time.
3   To be able to explain the significance of the energy in universe always being in transformation.
4   To be able realize that animals like all other life forms have different structural features with the help of evolution.
5   To be able to explain the importance of communication among the animate organisms to be able to sustain their existence in nature.

13 Homeostasis: Structures that help maintaining homeostasis
14 Energy flow in animate organisms: cellular respiration, photosynthesis and comparison between the respiratory systems in animals.
