Course Objective

This course aims to teach fundamental concepts related to functional groups, to investigate reactions and synthesis

1   Classify and name functional groups.
2   Distinguish functional groups which are structural isomery of each other.
3   Understand reactions of functional groups.
4   Compare chemical reactions in terms of mechanisms.
5   Plan retrosynthetic analysis related to functional groups.
