Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to inform about using and the situation in education process, properties of various instructional technologies( worksheets, tranparencies, slides, video, computer based course material etc.) provide the development of teaching materials through instructional technology.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   explain the basic concepts of educational technologies.
2   explain the information and communication technologies.
3   explain the adaptation of information and communication technologies in education.
4   express the importance of instructional materials in education.
5   become aware of the principles and elements of design.
6   explain how to use instructional tools.
7   develop instructional materials using instructional technologies(worksheets, transparencies, computer-based materials etc ...)
8   present teaching materials in the classroom.

1 Concepts related to instructional technology, properties of various instructional technologies
2 Using and the situation in education process of intstructional technologies
3 Identification of technological needs of school or classroom, planning and execution of appropriate technology
4 Development of two-dimensional materials through instructional technologies
5 Development of three-dimensional materials through instructional technologies
6 Development of teaching materials (design of worksheets, activities)
7 Midterm Exam
8 Development of teaching materials (overhead transparencies, slides etc.)
9 Development of teaching materials (visual media materials (VCD, DVD), computer-based tools)
10 Research of educational software and evaluation of instructional materials
11 Internet and distance education
12 Principles of visual design
13 Researchs related to activity condition of instructional materials
14 The situation of the use of educational technology in Turkey and worldwide
15 Final Exam
