Course Objective

Course objective is to examine physical geography characteristics of Turkey such as its geological structure, geomorphologic characteristics, climate, flora, lands, rivers, lakes and seas etc.; to analyze problems of our country in the natural environmental-human relationships and to develop suggestions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowledge of natural environmental properties of Turkey (characteristics of geographical location, land forms, climate characteristics, ground and surface waters, vegetation and soil characteristics).
2   To be able to make evaluations about Turkey's geological past and results.
3   To be able to make inferences about natural environment conditions which are influential on the distribution of population.
4   To be able to analyse the relation between distribution of economic activities and geographical conditions.
5   To be able to discuss the problems related to Turkey's natural riches and usage of these.
6   To be able to evaluate the reasons of the developedness differences amongst the regions.
7   To be able to develop the teacher candidate's ability to transfer "Turkey's natural environment potential in the natural environmental-human relations, and the significance of its conscious-sustainable usage" to his/her students.
