Course Objective

This course is designed to introduce content and local, oral history for teaching Social Studies to learners.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Through reading assignments, discussions, and class activities students will develop thinking skills that will assist them and their future students in understanding their world and their roles as citizens in world.
2   Develop communication skills that will assist them and their future students in understanding their world and their roles as citizens in world.
3   Learn planning and assessment procedures for effective, integrated, and functional social studies lessons.
4   Develop skills in utilizing local and oral history for teaching social studies in the elementary classroom.
