Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to explain the historical foundations and the development of the culture of democracy in Turkey and in the world and the crisis that were confronted.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehends social, economic and cultural foundations of the culture of democracy
2   Understands in what kind of climate culture of democracy can be developed and sustained.
3   Understands the causes that endangers the democratic life
4   Explains the historical background and the development of democratic culture in turkey.
5   Analyzes the conditions for the development of democratic culture.

13 The Crisis of Democracy in Turkey and in the World in the 1960s
14 The Crisis of Democracy in Turkey and in the World in the 1970s. The spread of classical democracy and the reflections on Turkey starting from the 1990s
