Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to make the student comprehend important political, social, economic, cultural and artistic developments of the world from the 19th century until the second half of the 21st century.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehends the general outlines of important developments in the second half of the 19th century to the present day
2   Comprehends the change and the problems that were caused by the I. and II. World Wars
3   Comprehends how the change in the world affected Turkey
4   Comprehends the Cold War period, and its reflection on Turkey
5   Comprehends the formation of the political, intellectual and economic values which are valid in the 21st century
