Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to provide students with the ability to recognize the messages on TV, radio, print media, the internet, etc. and analyse, evaluate and communicate these messages and this course also aims to enable the students gain a judgmental point of view towards the printed, visual and audial media.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   recognizing the communication types and being able to distinguish their components.
2   knowing mass communication medium.
3   conceiving the evaluation and effects of media organs within the history.
4   analyzing the effects of media on individuals and society.
5   explaning the effects of the messages (political, economical, cultural, etc.) given by the media organs on individuals and the society and how these messages are evaluated by the receivers with a judgmental point of view.
6   comprehending the importance of the media literacy.
7   gaining the necessary qualification about using media and multi-media medium in class.
