Course Objective

To analyse Turkish poetry from Tanzimat to modern day and to devolop student s ability about that era.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Republican period involved in the development of literature in the social, political and cultural developments and explain to comprehend. 2   To understand the impact of the Turkish Republic era poetry poetry in the preceding periods, ability to integrate and explain. 3   Republic of poetry communities, and explain the features and understand the artist 4   Republican era to comprehend the western literary movements affecting the Turkish poetry, compare and analyze. 5   During this period, to determine position of the artist in Turkish poetry, and poetry of analyzing period to determine its relations with other artists of his poems. 6   Poets of the poetry the themes, trends, styles, and be able to compare literary currents. 7   Learning to apply literary theory and literary arts on the text.

Week Subject Description 1 The first examples of the modern Turkish poetry: Ahmet Haşim and Yahya Kemal The old poets who were also write poems after 1923. 2 Poetry in the "National Literature" from the first years of republican period to the 1940. 3 Pure Poetry and "Yedi Meşaleciler". 4 Nazım Hikmet and socialist poetry. Purify moment in Turkish poetry. 5 Continue the same subject. 6 We will study poetic group: Garip. 7 Mid-term exam 8 Mid-term exam 9 We will study poetic group: Hisar. 10 We will study poetic group: Mavi. 11 We will study poetic group: II.
