Course Objective

Developing a project using the elements and principles of design and forming an original mean of expression. Presenting his/her written understanding and style.

3   Working on the problem of style, object, form and function.
4   Working on reality, visual perception and impression.
5   Working on description, expression and the problem of the meaning in art.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Researching art history, artists, manifestations on printed or digital media in order to form his/her own style and develop a project subject.
2 Preparing a research and project subject file. Presenting as a seminar.
3 Searching with the drawings, sketches and models.
4 Application on canvas around the Project by using personal ways of expression.
5 The problem of style, object, form and function: Application on canvas his/her Project and personal ways of expression by examining the object, form and function.
6 Reality in art: While applying his/her Project and personal ways of expression on canvas relating to reality in art.
7 Visual perception and impression: While applying his/her Project and personal ways of expression on canvas relating to the role of visual perception and impression.
8 Mid-term
9 Description and expression: While applying his/her Project and personal ways of expression on canvas questioning from the description and expression point.
10 The problem of the meaning in art: While applying his/her Project and personal ways of expression on canvas knowing the type of connection of his/her developed style and problem of meaning of painting.
11 Figurative and non-figurative: Applying suitable his/her Project and personal ways of expression figurative or non-figurative composition on canvas.
12 Abstract in art and abstracting: Continuing the figurative and non-figurative composition. Knowing abstract in art and abstracting.
13 Styles since 1950 to nowadays and movements: Knowing what an open and closed work is. Questioning his/her Project and personal ways of expression in this content.
14 Technical inventions: Designing new in the context of shape-content-materials and applying on canvas. Biennial, Triennial, Concept: Expanding by researching, applying his/her own enriched mean of expression on canvas.
