Course Objective

This course aims to encourage the students to the study, analysis and appreciation of Hellenistic sculpture. Examining general technique and development of sculpture by using maters works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understand the general features and development of Hellenistic plastic arts.
2   Recognize famous master s works.
3   Understand and recognize of Amazonomachia, Kentauromachia and Gigantomachia friezes.
4   Identify high relief and low relief techniques in Hellenistic sculpture art.
5   Recognize god and goddess statues.
6   Recognize and understand Euergetes statues.
7   Understand and apply methods of dating in Hellenistic sculpture art.
