Course Objective

To present ,as an economic unit, the organization, operation and activities of firms under the light of new outcomes and make them gain new age leadership skills, communicational and organizational knowledge and social, environmental responsibility.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to explain the basic concepts of the business economics: firms objectives, functions, activities, planning, organization, coordination, production, auditing, pricing, marketing, finance, decision, choice of settlement.
2   Gain of a responsible, conscious, ethic behavior of the student who would follow and learn the most recent evolutions about business economics and management, and though about human and society such as; total quality management, organizational culture, learning individual, organization, society, synergic society, network economy, etc.
3   Improving and gain of the communicational skills, designation of inconveniences and resolution, sharing of the ideas, leadership potential and persuasive communication
4   Analytical thinking and problem solving, Strategic planning (SWOT analysis).
5   Ability to work in team, time management, management of conflict, crisis and stress, positive thinking.
6   Preparing a CV, interview skills, evaluation of performance; gain of an efficient, productive and professional approach as a life time attitude.
7   By a responsible and active participation in social, scientific, artistic and cultural domains (seminars, congress, meetings, panel, colloquiums, mass organization, knowledge of the city, education, cultural and artistic visits, symphony, art film shows, courses, dance, share of social activities, charity activities, recognize of business environment during studies); the improvement of team work abilities and leadership and organizational skills.
8   Social and environmental responsibility/consciousness, project management (health education in primary schools, charity of office materials, rolling chairs for handicapped persons, reforestation..)

1 Basic Concepts about Business Economics (economic life, production factors, enterprise, entrepreneur, manager, rationality, productivity, rentability, efficiency)
2 Firm Objectives (longevity, growth, social service, and responsibility) and classifications. Trust, holding companies, cartel, fusion
3 Feasibilty studies, Marginal Productivity of Capital, Break-even point
4 Basic functions of management and activities (planning, organization, leading, coordination, audit, decision). Production, marketing, pricing, development, entrenchment, distribution, finance
5 Total Quality management (Ancient and new management approach). Ethic behavior in business environment. Popular subject about business management (Benchmarking, leasing, factoring, franchising, learning organizations, organizational culture, network economics, R&D activities, know-how, technopark, synergic society, intellectual capital, risk management
6 Leadership and motivation (Leadership and management). Decision making and application. Efficient communication (verbal, non-verbal, written),
7 Team Work. Time management (meeting management)
8 Knowledge Society (innovation), emotional and quotient and creativity, entrepreneurship. Technology (Information technologies, genetic sciences) and human coaching (empathy, self-confidence) in new management approach

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Following the presentation of the professor supported by Power Point slide shows, students also do presentations about their projects in teams about different subjects optional to them. Moreover, scientific publications, books, magazine, articles, reports, and journals about their subject should be systematically followed about their chosen subject.
