Course Objective

Aim of the course is to continue the teaching French equivalents of the basic concepts of law and institutions, which started to teach from first grade. In this context, French legal terminology is gained to students who choose this course by examining national and international / supranational decisions of judicial authorities example of the French language, firstly the French Council of State (Conseil d'Etat) and the French Constitutional Council (Conseil Constitutionnel) as well as; the Swiss Federal Court, the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, etc. Also begins to examine the impact of Law of the Council of Europe and the European Union in the context of human rights law texts in French law to national laws.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be dominated by French counterparts of the basic concepts of law
2   To be dominated by French counterparts of the basic institıtions of law
3   To examine decision examples of the French language of national judical authorities such as French Council of State, the French Constitutional Council, the Swiss Federal Court.
4   To examine the European Court of Human Rights sample decisions of the French language
5   To examine the Court of Justice of the European Union sample decisions of the French language

2 Giving information on French counterparts of basic institutions of law
3 Examination of a sample decision of French Council of State
4 Examination of a sample decision of the French Constitutional Council
5 Examination of a sample decision of Swiss Federal Court
6 Examination of a sample decision of The European Court of Human Rights
7 Examination of a sample decision of The Court of Justice of the European Union (for the case of abrogation
8 Examination of a sample decision of The Court of Justice of the European Union (for pre-decision procedure)
9 Examination of a sample decision of The Court of Justice of the European Union (for the cause of inactivity)
10 Examination of a sample decision of The Court of Justice of the European Union (for the cause of violation)
11 Preparation of individual petition to the European Court of Human Rights
12 Translation some of the provisions in the European Convention on Human Rights and / or the Treaty of the European Union from French into Turkish
13 to examine the impact of Law of the Council of Europe and the European Union in the context of human rights law texts in French law to national laws.
14 Mid-term exam
