Course Objective

The aim of this course is to evaluate the reasons for disclosure of parliaments and the important role of parliaments for the practice of the principles of national sovereignty and popular sovereignty. The other aim is to gain information about the mechanisms of parliaments, process of legislation in the light of comparative and national examples.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have required information about the content of parliament as a concept and the history of parliaments
2   To be able to have comprehensive knowledge about the concept of parliamentary law and its resources
3   To be able to express the meaning of parliamentarism
4   To be able to present fundamental philosophic, political and legal idea that created the idea of parliaments.
5   To be able to analyze the principles of parliamentarism
6   To be able to remark the history of Turkish Parliamentary Law and the formations of parliaments in Turkish Constitutions
7   To be able to have knowledge about existing institutional form, principles, working order of Turkish Parliamentary Law and internal regulations of Turkish Grand National Assembly
8   To be able to have knowledge about law, act of parliament and other transactions of parliament

10 The working order of Turkish Grand National Assembly
11 Presidency council of Turkish Grand National Assembly
12 Current Problems of Internal Regulations of Turkish Grand National Assembly
