Course Objective

To be informed about the theoretical aspects and applications of the waqfs in the Ottoman Empire, and comparison of today s law of the waqf of this institution to do.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to identify the basic concepts and the agencies about the Ottoman.
2   To be able to explain the reasons for development of the institution of the Waqf.
3   To be able to categorize of the waqf with some of the major criteria.
4   To be able to specify to elements and the administration of the Waqfs.
5   To be able to compare with old waqf law and today s waqf law.
6   To be able to detect rules of law applicable to the settlement of disputes related to the Waqfs.

3 - The emergence and development of the institution of the Waqf (description, origin, development reasons)
4 -Elements of the Waqf
5 - The Waqf s establishment and the validity of conditions of the Waqf
6 - Administration of Waqfs
7 - The Waqf's changed (Istibdal)
8 - In general, types of waqfs - Types of waqfs according to their purpose
9 - Types of waqfs according to whether or not a real waqf
10 - According to the status of the goods is subject to the Waqf, the waqf yielding varieties (Waqfs of Single rent, Waqfs of Icareteyn)
11 - According to the status of the goods is subject to the Waqf, the waqf yielding varieties (Waqfs of Mukataa)
12 - According to the administration of the waqf types - the continuing problems with the old waqfs in today - General assessment of year-end
