Course Objective

The purpose of the Course is to teach fundamental concepts and subjects of political science to students. Within this framework fundamental concepts in relation to political sciences like state, political power, legitimacy of political power, political participation, political parties, pressure groups and civil society are purposed to be analysed by students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have a full knowledge of meaning, basic notions, subject and historical development of political science.
2   To be able to examine the concept of state from the point of political science.
3   To be able to express meanings of political power and sovereignty from the point of political science.
4   To be able to explain theories regarding legitimacy of political power.
5   To be able to compare models of political participation in terms of several political systems.
6   To be able to analyse functions, typology, and systems of political parties
7   To be able to explain functions and types of pressure groups; also relations and differences between political parties and them.
