Course Objective

The aim of the course is giving information about international jurisdiction of the Turkish courts, enforcement and recognition of decisions of foreign courts and arbitral awards in accordance with the provisions of Act on Private International and Procedural Law (Act No. 5718)

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To determine the scope of International Procedural Law,
2   To give information about international jurisdiction of the Turkish courts,
3   To identify cases where a foreign state may not claim immunity from jurisdiction,
4   To express information about enforcement and recognition of decisions of foreign courts,
5   To express information about enforcement and recognition of decisions of arbitral awards.
