Course Objective

To enable students to gain general knowledge on the birth of tafsir, its emergence, tafsir schools; prominenet scholars of tafsir and their Works; contemporary tafsir Works; basic principles of the methodology of understanding and interpretation of the Quran.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   They will get knowledge on exegesis on Quran to date.
2   They will gain historical understanding on Scholars of exegesis, their Works and methodology, history of tafsir and tafsir schools
3   They will know that they are supposed to understand the Quran based on the context and the pretext of the verses.
4   They will learn classical and modern methodological books on tafsir, and basic concepts and sources of the methodology of tafsir.
5   They will learn the emergence and development of the methodology of tafsir.

10 Linguistic Tafsir
11 Coherence in tafsir and themetical tafsir
12 Recurrences, Oaths and Parables in the Quran
13 Garibu'l-Qur'an, meani'l-Qur'an, i'rabu'l-Qur'an, truth and metaphor, and ücuh Nazaire, between verses and suras tenasüb and integrity
14 Semantic method of tafsir
15 Final exam
