Course Objective

This course aims to make student informed about rising of Islamic Philosophy, its systematic subjects, origin philosophers of Islamic philosophy, the relation between subjects of Islamic philosophy with Islamic sciences like Fıqh and Kalam.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of the course, student will learn concept, essence, rise and development of Islamic Philosophy. The student will als learn and understand the philosophical views of philosophers of Islamic Philosophy and the worth of critiques of Al- Ghazzali agains Islamic Philosophers
2   Student will learn factors and effects in the beginnig of Islamic Philosophy and also learn the relation between philosophy and religion in Islamic Thought.
3   Student will gain ability to analyze the difference between Islamic philosophers
4   It will be a conclusion for students to understand general framework of Islamic thought and philosophy
5   Student will learn the outlook and method difference between philosophy and other Islamic sciences.

2 Rising of Islamic philosophy different reasons and their explanations. Ancien philosophy schools, translation movement, interrelations between cultures
3 Philosophy education in Islamic world and development periods
4 The relation between philosophy and islamic sciences
5 Schools of Islamic philosophy
6 Systematic topics in Islamic philosophy. Epistemology, Ontology, Virtue Philosophy, Ethics, Natural Philosophy
7 Original philosophers of Islamic Philosophy
8 Midterm Exam
9 Naturalistic and Eclectic Thought Z.Razi- I.Ravendi and Ikhvan ı Safa
10 Peripatetistic school and its philosophers
11 Farabi and his philosophy
12 School of Farabi and Spread of Philosophical Culture
