Course Objective

In this course, the novels written by contemporary Turkish novelists will be read by taking religion into the centre and the topics will be evaluated. Thus, students will see how religion is considered in novels which are important elements of our cultural heritage. So, students will be familiar with novelists and their novels; then it will be provided that these novels will guide them in their future.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Will have information on the contemporary Turkish novels and novelists.
2   Will be able to detect the theme of religion dealt in novels
3   Will be an educated theologian.
4   Will benefit from these novels in their writings.
5   Will be expected to use these novels and the theme of religion in these novels in their classes for those who will be teacher; and be expected to choose the good characters from the characters and typologies in the novels as a guide.
