Course Objective

To widely and deeply analyze the sociology of knowledge in the context of the philosophy of social sciences, and in doing so, to establish bridges between the philosophy of social sciences and the Islamic sciences through the sociology of knowledge.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn the development of the sociology of knowledge.
2   They will acquire main thoughts in the sociology of knowledge.
3   They will understand how to approach religion with the sociology of knowledge.
4   They will use the sociology of knowledge when researching religion, especially Islam.
5   They will be able to establish bridges between the philosophy of social sciences and the Islamic sciences via the sociology of knowledge.
