Course Objective

To show philosophical problems in analyzing the concept of epistemology. In doing so, to enable students to comprehend origins, boundaries and validity of 'knowledge'.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will learn what epistemology and its boundaries are along with emphasizing the difference between knowledge and faith. 2   Will apprehend scientific explanation, constructing a theory and validating hypotheses through examples from the history of science. 3   Will gain the ability to assess scientific debates based on variety of concrete examples. 4   Will not discuss each movement or philosopher independently but make comparisons and contrasts between all. 5   Will also see the positive impacts of learning the history of philosophy for the education in theology.
