Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to see the reflections of the needs of renewal of Islamic thought which occurred in last 150 years, in the Kalam area. This course, also, contains the methodological and systematical changes in Kalam, comparing with its historical background.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will learn the basic difficulties which Kalam encountered in modern period .
2   will recognize the critics and basic foundations of opposition to Kalam.
3   will find opportunity to make comparison between modern and classical methodologies of Kalam.
4   will understand the new insights concerning the Kalam, in modern era.
5   will learn the basic orientations of the modern period of Kalam.
