Course Objective

To provide a general background of Economic Thought of Islam in terms of its emergence, sources, keywords, terms, origins, methodology, main principles, basic values, aims, future and legacy.
To give perspective on the prominent economic thoughts of Islam and their historical contexts; in doing so, to help understand Muslims economic life, doctrines, hypothesis, and politics.
To aim comparing economic thoughts of Islam to capitalism and socialism.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   will acquire common knowledge on the of Economic Thought of Islam in terms of its emergence, sources, keywords, terms, origins, methodology, main principles, basic values, aims, future and legacy.
2   Will be able to evaluate the prominent economic thoughts of Islam and their historical contexts; in doing so, to understand Muslims economic life, doctrines, hypothesis, and politics.
3   Evaluate the historical context leading Islamic economic thought;
4   Muslim economic life, doctrines, theories learned.
5   More deeply understand the policies of Islamic Economics.
