Course Objective

To analyze; the basic problems of the world economy, the global economy and the new world order redefinition of the concepts of formation conditions and results.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to explain the developments of the world economy with illustrations in 20th century. 2   To be able to query of the new economic order, development and descriptions at the country level. 3   To be able to analyze the center-periphery relations. 4   To be able to evaluate globalization and its results. 5   To be able to assess the causes and consequences of the global financial crisis. 6   To be able to analyze the world economy.

Week Subject Description 1 The World Economy in the half of 20th century: 1929 World Crisis, Macro Trends 2 Dominate the economies of the world economy, capitalism, spreading processes 3 The birth of a new economic order and its development 4 Center-Periphery concept, countries and relationships 5 Globalization elements (which cause / accelerate the examination process, the globalization of production, political, legal, social and cultural globalization) 6 Money and financial markets, globalization, financial crises: Country examples 7 Foreign Direct Investment, MNCs in the world economy 8 Midterm Exam 9 Midterm Exam 10 Regionalization, the process of regional integration in developing countries 11 Emerging Markets, Transition economies, countries 12 The new economy, e-commerce, digital divide 13 The global financial crisis: Formation, the causes, the effects of the world economy 14 Opportunities and threats created by globalization
