Course Objective

The aim of this course is to explain research techniques and scientific techniques in the analysis of economic facts and issues.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   to be able to distinguish the differences between methods, approaches and techniques.
2   to be able to evaluate the criteria for scientific theories.
3   to be able to demonstrate the differences between scientific approaches.
4   to be able to assess theories in economics within the framework of science, positive science and normative science concepts.
5   to be able evaluate a must-have criteria of the scientific work.
6   to be able to examine theories of economics within the framework of the philosophy of science.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

It is aimed to provide students with the ability to make analysis, by exemplifying the explanatory power of economic theories on economic events. After processing each topic, it is controlled by asking at least ten questions to students, whether the point of course is understood or not.
