Course Objective

In this course; the basic concepts of electricity, DC and AC systems, the electric field and magnetic field theory, AC and DC motors will be given.

1 The basic quantities for DC systems, voltage, current, power, definitions of the capacitance, the inductance and the resistance
2 Connection schemes of R, L and C components and circuit analysis
3 Circuit analysis with node and mesh analysis
4 Electric field theory, basic definitions
5 Coloumb s law, elekcrostatic field, energy and force
6 The concept of current density and Kirchoff s laws
7 First midterm
8 AC systems
9 Magnetic field theory, basic definitions
10 Magnetic flux, magnetic voltage and current
11 Faraday s law
12 Transformers and magnetic circuits
13 DC motor, AC motor
14 Second midterm
