Course Objective

In this course, game theory, decision analysis, network models, queueing systems, markov chains, non-linear programming, multi-criteria decision making and goal programming topics will be discussed to make the students capable of developing mathematical models concerning these topics and using special solution methods to find the best solutions to these models.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to know the application areas of Operations Research and to identify the problems from real life
2   To be able to develop network models and non-linear programming models for the solution of engineering problems and solve them
3   To be able to use game theory and decision making techniques
4   To be able to identify queueing models and apply them for the solution of a variety of sample problems
5   To be able to identify stochastic processes and Markov chains and apply them for the solution of a variety of sample problems
6   To be able to use multi-criteria decision techniques and goal programming methods
