Course Objective

The objective of the course is to give the basic engineering knowledge about the airport planning, design, construction and maintenance.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To recognize and classify aircrafts, air transport properties and activities
2   To describe necessary facilities and features for aviation infrastructure.
3   Airports capacities and specify the factors with main lines that affect the capacity
4   The airport site selection, layout, and runway orientation.
5   To compare runway pavement design methods.
6   To identify deformations in airport pavements, and to decide about maintenance and repair methods

13 Runway, taxiway and apron pavements, deformations at pavements, maintenance and repair methods

Visual presentations of the course, presentation slides and lecture notes (lecture notes and presentations will be sent to the students by e-mail before the lesson). The term paper and it's presentation related with airport vehicles, aviation infrastructure, and capacity etc.
