Course Objective

This lecture aims to transfer innovations about the alternative materials used in concrete technology. Students will discuss the usability of new types of concrete ingredients and special production methods within the scope of this course. Finally, modern statistical methods for quality control of concrete will be presented.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the properties of the components of concrete.
2   To compare the advantages and disadvantages of alternative materials used in concrete by.
3   To choose the mineral and chemical additives in the concrete production used in accordance with the intended use
4   To define the main information related to the concrete standard.
5   LO5. To evaluate the concrete by using different quality control methods.

Visual presentations and the slides will be given in the course (will be distributed to the students before class to read). The preparation and presentation of homeworks given to each student at the beginning of the term.
