Course Objective

Hydrological cycle, Determination of Hydrogeological properties of rocks, Groundwater investigations, Groundwater pollution sources, Determination and interpretation of groundwater physical and chemical properties, the results of the geophysical methods are used and interpreted with the Hydrogeological information

1   To be able to explain the basic Hydrological and Hydrogeological concepts.
2   To be able to apply the groundwater monitoring techniques.
3   To be able to inform about the Hydrogeological investigations.
4   To be able to use the various geophysical methods to Hydrogeological problems.

1 Water. Hydrological cycle and its components.
2 Water budget and Aquifers.
3 Hydrogeological features of rocks and groundwater flow.
4 Well Hydrolic, balanced regime, problem solution.
5 Unbalanced regime, problem solution.
6 Chemical features of Groundwater. Homework-1-a:Research and Discussion of hydrogeological features of a field selected from the Aegean Region.
7 1st midterm exam
8 Salt water intrusion and hydrogeological surveys.
9 Electrical methods in Groundwter investigations - I Homework-1-b:Evaluation of geophysical data of a field selected from the Aegean Region and interpretation of results in terms of groundwater.
10 Electrical methods in Groundwter investigations - II
11 Magnetic method applications in Groundwter investigations.
12 2nd midterm exam
13 GPR applications in Groundwter investigations.
14 Seismic method in Groundwter investigations and Borehole geophysics.
