Course Objective

is to teach fence diyagram, suburface facies maps, structure contour maps, seismic profile interpretations and well-log (SP:spontan potantial, R: rezistivity, G: gamma, N: neutron) interpretations methods, and is to investigate subsurface geology, structures such as fault, folds, dome and position and geometry of economic resources such as salt, oil and gas using drill datas, seismic datas and well-logs datas.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   able to know principles of seismic stratigraphy and well-log interpretation (SP,R, G and N log)
2   able to define stratigraphic and sedimentologic structures using seismic and well-log methods.
3   able to relate lateral and vertical changes of subsurface lithofacies parameters and geologic structures such as beding, lens, contact, discordance and fault
4   able to prepare drill log, fence diagram and facies maps
5   able to constitute lithostratigraphic section using seismic section and well-logs
6   able to compare seismic and well-log data
7   able to constitute a sedimantary basın model using drilling, seismic and well-log data
8   able to evaluate effects of subsurface data and evidence on disolving a geolojgic probleme
