Course Objective

Is to teach relating morphologic and geologic elements to naturel hazards such as earthquake, tusunami, landslide, sliding, rock fall, debris-mud-flow, flood, volcanic eruption and pollution, is to determine paleohazards, active hazards and potential hazards and is to provide morphologic and geologic information to be used in prevention studies.

3   able to relate geologic and morphologic characteristics of settlement and living area, to potential natural hazards
4   able to make prior review for choosing settlement and living areas
5   able to make a plan before, during and after natural hazard
6   able to determine causes of natural hazards
7   able to make an engeneering plain, a damage distribution plain, assessment and
8   able to solve some problems which are drived from natural hazards using geologic information

1 Earthquake and relationship between earthquake risque and geologic map information and geologic elements
2 Using geologic map information in selection of settlement and living area, in earthquake region
3 Landslide, sliding and theire relation with geologic map information, geomorphology and geologic elements
4 Rock fall, collaps, subsidence and theire relation with geologic map information, geomorphology and geologic elements
5 Mud flow, grain flow, debris flow, creep, soil avalanche and theire relation with geologic map information, geomorphology and geologic elements
6 Stream movoments, flooding and theire relation with geologic map information, geomorphology and geologic elements
7 presentation of homework subject
8 Volcanic eruption and relating hazards (pyroclastic flow, lava flow, ash, volcanic mud-debris flow and their relation with volcano types.
9 Natural hazard risk depending on volcanic eruption and their relation with geologic map information
10 Sea movements and coastal hazards and their relation with geologic map information
