Course Objective

Engineering geology is the application of the geologic sciences to engineering practice for the purpose of assuring that the geologic factors affecting the location, design, construction, operation and maintenance of engineering works. Engineering geology examine and provide geologic and geotechnical recommendations, analysis, and design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to apply investigation methods in Engineering Geology
2   Being able to define physical, chemical and biological weathering of rocks
3   Being able to classify rocks according to engineeering purposes
4   Being able to explain analyse land movements
5   Being able to explain geotechnical works in dam sites
6   Being capable of geotechnical Works about classification of tunnel rocks and supporting of tunnels
