Course Objective

The objective of this elective course is to teach reclamation concept, which is one of the most important stages of mining cycle, to undergraduate students; to explain the necessity of reclamation at mine sites in the context of mining-environment relationship; to present domestic and international examples of mine reclamation; to teach the steps of an ideal mine reclamation study; to discuss the relevant legislation in class and to make comparison between domestic and international laws and regulations about mine reclamation; to present land-use planning alternatives after mining.
