Course Objective

In the Knitted Fabric Analysis lecture, it is aimed to give the knowledge about the knitted fabrics manufactured with different pattern techniques and to obtain knitting reports by analysing different fabric samples and the other properties of these fabrics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have the knowledge about different types of knitted fabrics.
2   To be able to explain the logic of the knitted fabric formation.
3   To be able to distinguish the manufacturing technologies of knitted fabrics.
4   To be able to decide on the reproducibility of knitted fabrics
5   To be able to design different patterns of knitted fabrics

Course Contents

1 Analyzing methods and analysis of knitted structures produced in single bed circular knitting machines (single jersey, lacoste etc)
2 Analysis of knitted fabrics with rib structures, analysis of interlock structures
3 Analysis of jacquard knitted fabrics
4 Thermal, milano rib, pique fabrics etc
5 Analysis of knitted fabrics with knit stitch pile-ups and relief technique
6 Analysis of knitted fabrics with stitch drop-off and stitch transfer structures.Double-face, spacer fabrics
7 1.st midterm exam
8 Knitted fabrics produced in electronic flat bed knitting machines (plain knit,cable etc.).
9 Creating knitting patterns using hand knitting machine
10 STOLL M1 pattern software
